About the Artist
This amazing painter grew up at the Grand Canyon and Navajo National Monument. She existed as a child in the canyons and colluded with nature- giving her a rare and privileged connection unknown to most people. Nature was her teacher. To paint clouds, she looked at clouds and remembered getting soaked by thunderstorms. To paint sandstone, she marveled at pictographs, ate sand in her food and scaled ancient hand and toe holds. To paint moonlight, she recalled nights looking for her missing horse. Her work now spans five decades and is infused with her first hand experience.
In her private collection (now for sale for the first time) are the wondrous zoom-in of plants and butterflies, marking her expanded search for beauty after 22 years as a paramedic. She was Santa Fe Fire Department’s first female Captain. She helped bring 40 babies into this world as a midwife apprentice. She turned a gravel lot into an organic, sustainable solar farm that features her own bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon. She leads a special life.
With no other teacher than the natural world and her life experience, I think you will find her expressions unique and meaningful and magical.
